Kinda Boaring

Cooked some wild boar tonight and pooched it. Decided to braise it for a couple of hours and that apparently was too long. Should have followed the notes I had read re: it being much more lean than traditional pork and faster cooking. Luckily the veggies and Guinness that I braised it in turned into an extremely good stew that did a very good job of covering up the dryness of the meat and the absence of flavor. Had some baked sunchokes and new potatoes along side and some brussel sprouts as well. Looking forward to trying it again, but doing it in the cast iron skillet and not overcooking it.

After dinner, mom and boy laid down on the couch for some Richard Scarry book reading.

Oh, and this may also be one of the last photos of Rudy with all of his birth hair. We may be getting it cut this week or next. We had him an appt last week, but bailed b/c we weren't ready to part with the locks.

In other news, we will be going to Great Britain later this week and the coming weekend. London for a few days and then into Wales to seek out Sara's kin. Pics will follow.
